Portfolio Building
Jan - Jun 2025
Are you ready to get serious about films? This group mentoring program will help you create a portfolio of meaningful, story driven films for your business.
Whether you’ve been making films for awhile and something feels missing, or you’ve been making them for yourself and want to start making them for other families, this group mentoring program will help you create a portfolio of meaningful, story driven films for your business.
Over the course of this 6 month program, you will complete at least 3 client family films for your portfolio. After you edit each film, you will get direct feedback from Courtney BEFORE you move onto your next one so that you can build on everything you’ve learned with each film you make.
It can be really lonely and difficult to go through the process of portfolio building on your own. In a small group setting you’ll learn from each other and share the mental load of decision making, so that you feel supported and confident in creating a portfolio of films that you feel proud of.
Spots are very limited for this program to be able to give personalized support / feedback to each student.
Bi-Weekly Zoom Calls take place every other Tuesday at 7pm CST (USA time)

What to Expect:
As with any course, you'll learn more if you stay engaged with the material and actively participate in the group. Here are a few things that you can contribute to our course community, and get the most bang for your buck:
You should plan to allocate at least 5hrs per week to this program. Some weeks will be heavier on the instruction / tutorials than others. And some weeks will require more work on your end. If you allocate 5hrs to this course each week, you should have no trouble at all keeping up and completing the work.
Attendance at each call is required unless you are unwell. Please notify me in advance if this is the case.
Bring questions and/or observations to each class discussion zoom call.
Turn in your assignments & final project by each due date - please do not ask for exemptions or exceptions to the due dates. Plan ahead, and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to submit your work on time.
Be active in the group. One of the best parts about this course is that it's part of a small supportive group. We love hearing your thoughts and ideas, and what you're learning as you work through the material. Your commitment to learning is inspiring to others.
Engage with your peers. We're all in this together, and we'll learn a whole lot more (AND have more fun) if we help each other out.
Ask and answer questions. Feeling stuck or confused? Ask your questions in the group, and there will be someone there to help you work through them. Also, feel free to jump in when others have questions as well. Never forget, we all have something to contribute to this community. Please share & support your fellow filmmakers!
