FLOW Showcase | FilmingLife® ArtHouse Film Project
The Term 1 2026 theme, FLOW, was led by FilmingLifer PRO Laura Duffy and unpacked why some films feel effortless while others feel disjointed. She shared how flow is an invisible craft shaped both while filming and editing, and how intentional choices around composition, movement, and pacing guide the viewer through a story without them ever noticing the work behind it.
Our ArtHouse themes are chosen to give members the opportunity to try a new skill or technique, the space to refine or try out an idea they’ve been playing with, or provide inspiration and encouragement to create personal films outside of client work or experiment with new techniques in their client films.
The goal of the ArtHouse is that members will add tools to their tool belt that will have them feeling more confident and accomplished in their filmmaking.
There were two levels for our FLOW theme for members to choose from - for level 1 films we asked members to create a short film by laser-focusing on ONE pillar of FLOW. For members making a level 2 film, we asked members to create a short film by layering MULTIPLE pillars of FLOW together..
As always the films that were submitted & created by our members were just amazing, and we’re so pleased to present them to you today…
The Educator’s Choice Award is chosen by the Lead Educator of the film project as those that fully embody the spirit of the FilmingLife® ArtHouse, and are noted for their storytelling, creativity and unique interpretation of the theme.
Paige Gotts
What Laura said about Paige’s film -
”Some films don’t ask for your attention — they gently carry you.
Paige’s film moves across different moments, light, and spaces, yet never feels disconnected. Every clip leads into the next with such quiet intention that you don’t even notice the cuts — you just stay. This is what flow looks like when it’s shaped with care. A story that feels whole, effortless, and deeply lived.”

What Laura said about Brianna’s film -
”A tender, everyday moment elevated through thoughtful pacing — using stillness and movement to create a soft, emotional rhythm. The choice of black and white strips everything back to what matters most — connection, presence, love. And the fact that Brianna placed herself inside the frame… that’s something her child will hold onto forever.”

What Laura said about Stephanie’s film -
”AI can feel how thoughtfully each piece was chosen and placed. Stephanie embraced the reality of your everyday scenes and lighting, and then shaped them in the edit to create a sense of movement and continuity that carries the viewer through your story.”
