INTERVIEW Showcase | FilmingLife® ArtHouse Film Project

The Term 2 2026 theme, INTERVIEW, was led by FilmingLifer PROS Marcos & Aby Guerrero and was all about how to conduct, capture & use interviews in our films. They taught our members how to use interviews to tell meaningful stories — how to guide people through their experiences with thoughtful questions, draw out real emotion and shape their words into stories people can truly feel and remember.

Our ArtHouse themes are chosen to give members the opportunity to try a new skill or technique, the space to refine or try out an idea they’ve been playing with, or provide inspiration and encouragement to create personal films outside of client work or experiment with new techniques in their client films.

The goal of the ArtHouse is that members will add tools to their tool belt that will have them feeling more confident and accomplished in their filmmaking.

There were two levels for our INTERVIEW theme for members to choose from - for level 1 films we asked members to create a film around a Self Interview, practicing creating questions (prompts) for themself that would shape the story they told and using their answers as a voice-over for a film. For members making a level 2 film, we asked members to interview someone else, and incorporate the interview into their film.

As always the films that were submitted & created by our members were just amazing, and we’re so pleased to present them to you today…

The Educator’s Choice Award is chosen by the Lead Educator of the film project as those that fully embody the spirit of the FilmingLife® ArtHouse, and are noted for their storytelling, creativity and unique interpretation of the theme.

Kristine Esposito

What Marcos & Aby said about Kristine’s film -
”This was not only an interview, but five interviews rolled into one film! We enjoyed everything from the cuts in the dialogue between the children, to the similarities and contrasting differences in their responses, which really exemplifies their identities. This gave us a sense of their personalities, where by the end of the video we felt like we could relate to each child in a different way. As a daring task to interview FIVE kids, it was a very creative topic of choice with beautifully interwoven b-roll and great sounding audio that culminates as this theme’s selection for Educator’s Choice and what we’re sure will remain a beloved heirloom by everyone in the family. Excellent work!”

Belinda Dorman

What Marcos & Aby said about Belinda’s film -
”We were able to develop an understanding of not only what Tapestry of Life is, but understand Lauren’s passion for what she does. This is a very professional looking brand film where the conversation flows naturally with great interview composition and lighting.”

The FilmingLife® ArtHouse Film Project is a series of quarterly live workshops + showcase opportunities for FilmingLife® Members.

Community Manager & Educator Kylie Purtell & handpicked FilmingLifers have chosen 4 themes for the year. Some themes are specific to a technique and others are more broad to give our members the freedom to interpret them as they like.

For each theme, we provide a live teaching call, tips, tutorials, and inspiration to encourage and support Members as they work on their film projects.
