THIS IS ME Showcase | FilmingLife® ArtHouse Film Project
The Term 2 2025 theme for our ArtHouse Film Project was led by FilmingLifer PRO Laura Duffy and encouraged our members to get in the frame and create a film that included them. More than just a self-portrait film, Laura wanted our members to create a film that really represented their heart and their love - for their family, themself or their work.
Our ArtHouse themes are chosen to give members the opportunity to try a new skill or technique, the space to refine or try out an idea they’ve been playing with, or provide inspiration and encouragement to create personal films outside of client work.
The goal of the ArtHouse is that members will add tools to their tool belt that will have them feeling more confident and accomplished in their filmmaking.
The purpose for the THIS IS ME theme was to have our members think deeply about their storytelling and their WHY for making films. To get comfortable in front of the camera and to really live one of our guiding principles as filmmakers - that every person deserves to be seen and have their story told. By sharing our own story we get better at telling other’s stories.
There were two levels to this theme for our members to choose from - for level 1 films we asked members to create a personal film that includes them and shares a meaningful story using simple techniques with intention. For members making a level 2 film, we asked members them to create a brand film telling the story of their business and why they do what they do.
As always the films that were submitted & created by our members were just amazing, and we’re so pleased to present them to you today…
The Educator’s Choice Award is chosen by the Lead Educator of the film project as those that fully embody the spirit of the FilmingLife® ArtHouse, and are noted for their storytelling, creativity and unique interpretation of the theme.
Level 1 Winner - Brianna Nguyen
What Laura said about Brianna’s film -
”You took me on such a beautiful journey. I loved the way you wove together stories from your parents, your own life, and your children—it felt like watching a legacy unfold. The old footage was so powerful, and the non-linear storytelling held so much meaning. This is a film your children will return to again and again, each time seeing new layers and feeling just how loved they are. You created something full of grace, reflection, and love.”

Level 2 Winner - Paige Gotts
What Laura said about Paige’s film -
”Your film moved me deeply. It didn’t just show your work—it revealed your heart. The way you wove together your childhood, motherhood, and grief was tender and powerful. I could feel your “why” in every frame. The story about your dad, paired with that old footage, was especially moving—it anchored the whole piece in something so real and lasting. You reminded me how sacred the ordinary can be.
This film is a gift—not just to the families you serve, but to anyone who watches it. Thank you for sharing it with such honesty and care.”
